Roma manager, Jose Mourinho, has aimed a dig at teams like Barcelona and Juventus, who are likely to drop out of the Champions League into the Europa League.
Mourinho is not happy with the rule that allows teams that finish third in the Champions League group stage to drop into the Europa League knockout stage.
After their 1-1 draw with Real Betis on Thursday, the former Chelsea boss labelled those clubs as “sharks”.
When he was asked which teams are the favourites to win the Europa League trophy, Mourinho told reporters, “I see them [Betis] as candidates, but the failed sharks of the Champions League will arrive, and they will come in hard.
“They shouldn’t come but it’s the reality. It’s going to be fun. The failures of the Champions League.”
