The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has been appointed the National Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The appoint was made yesterday at the PDP National Executive Meeting which also had the presence of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and others.

Saraki replaces Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremmadu in that position being the highest office holder in the party at the moment.

His emergence as National Leader of the PDP is upon his ranking as the party’s highest office holder.

The arrival  of the Senate President was heralded by loud ovation as he was led into the venue of the meeting by PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus and other top leaders of the party.

The meeting was in celebration mood as the politicians exchanged banters.

Apart from the defectors from the All Progressives Congress, APC, the meeting hosted key figures in the PDP.
